Star Parties

Campbell Hall and Sidewalk Astronomy

Star Parties

Star Parties are a chance for you to look at the stars - scheduled about once per month, our telescope crew sets up a variety of telescopes on the roof of Campbell Hall to gaze at nebulae, star clusters, planets, and the occasional astronomical event. Always open to the public, we hope to see you and your friends there!

Sidewalk Astronomy

Once per week at night, Telescope Crew brings the UAS Newtonian out onto Upper Sproul to show UC Berkeley the wonders of space - sometimes the moon, sometimes the Pleiades, always something cool! Keep an eye out for announcements or feel free to stop by if you see a telescope on Sproul!

Telescope Crew

Join the coolest most exclusive VIP part of UAS, where you learn how to set up a variety of telescopes - such as the Cassegrain and Newtonian, with this training you’ll be able to help out with Star Parties and Sidewalk Astronomy! Can you really even call yourself an astronomer if you can’t run a telescope?

Movie nights, game nights, and the Cluster program

We host movie nights and game nights to provide a comfortable and engaging environment for astro community members to get to know each other. Our new cluster program aims to promote smaller scale community building by supporting small group informal meetings for younger students and older cluster heads who can provide guidance.
